Post Hey guys
Why hello everyone
My name is AJ

Some of you may know me from back in the day:
I have been a big Z guy for about 10 years now and have helped work on a few cars that are here.

I have had an 06, 07 Z
08 G37S
09 and 10 370Z

Currently am in the market to get another Z and hopefully will be getting one shortly...to be frank I miss it big time

Hope I can help with some peoples cars and get back into the track days and most especially the Hell Run :-)

Thats it for now
-AJ

Heya AJ! Welcome back. I think your ears must have been burning because I just said something to Brian May a couple weeks ago about not having seen you in a few years. :P

I'll sell you my 370. :V It's still got that exhaust we put on like 5 years ago!

Post Re: Hey guys
I bought Rob Tam's old 350Z for a track car and I think I want a nice 280Z instead.

Pretty good. Still here. :P

Hey
So you have his old Black Z

Did he get another one or did he drop off the radar for a bit?
280's are bad ass

Are you going to get a V-8 conversion one or a regular one?

What trak events have you gone too with Robs car?
Do anything else to it, I know he had a few mods last time I saw it

Rob got an FRS and disappeared. Now he has a kid instead of a car. :P

Regular old 280 is what I want. :) Nothing too crazy.

I do most all of the 3balls events. I'm not sure it would pass the 50/50 test for NASA. He had a plenum spacer, exhaust and koni yellows. I put in a NISMO diff last year then hit a tree at Grattan and when I finally got back to the track with it the ABS went all wonky.

Post Re: Hey guys
ouch

Yeah after a tree let me guess it went into limp mode alot.
Wouldnt let you get going at all would it?

Sounds like a fun car though

He bought a freaking Scion......that thing is the slowest car I have ever driven
I like em the chassis is awesome but it takes like 14 seconds to get to 60

It screams I need a turbo!

I might come out to some events here soon
Got the autocross tune on it so I should be able to not hurt myself too bad in it

Yeah... It was fine for like 2 laps then ABS went nuts. I'm hoping it is something simple to fix but I haven't really had time to get it apart.

Post Re: Hey guys
Check the sensors on the calipers themselves
There is a actual sensor on the caliper to keep it from locking up

Those get gunk in em and get cracked you gotta replace it
Had it happen on a C5 Vette we were making into a race car

Its kind of a bitch but:
Get the car up on 4-5 jack stand make sure its REALLY on there
Take the wheels off
Start tyhe car and put it in gear and start "driving"
then hit the breaks...have someone stand outside the car and see which brake is hitting ABS you can watch the pump on the disc....BINGO
at least you can narrow it down that way to the caliper

Its not hard just takes some effort to see which one

Let me know if you need a hand

Post Re: Hey guys
I'll give that a try.. That's easier than the electronic/CAN debugging stuff in the FSM.

First on the list is to do my 370's brakes. in fact it's time to do that right now. :)

Post Re: Hey guys
yeah its easier to do it that way
Alot of people dont like driving the car with no wheels on it...to each there own

Did you get the brakes done on the 370?
Any special pads or just the OEM ones?

I think the brake master cylinder on the 370 is toast. Going to have to replace that I suppose. :(

I run Carbotechs. I actually intended to order XP8s but got XP10s instead in case I track it again this summer.

Damn that is REALLY bad

It should last way longer then that...kind of scary really
Thats a MAJOR part of the brakes.....without it you really have nothing
