We will gather at 7pm and start our meeting at 7:20.

Our birthday gift to you: Free 2012 Great Lakes Z Club membership to each Z owner that attends the birthday bash. (You will get your member ID card that evening. Does not include decals or magazine subscription. They can be purchased that evening.)

In the next couple weeks, each member will receive a new membership card. For those who just joined and were looking for their card, I apologize for the delay. You will have it soon and I will adjust the expiration date accordingly.

The original concept of the membership cards was noble but not practical. They had to be created online, member photo inserted, copied, pasted, adjusted to fit, printed on a color laser printer, trimmed and layed with the back side image, laminated and then trimmed down again.  Oye! I’m tired just thinking about it. The new card are more simple yet still look good. You’ll have to wait to see.

Our first install meet of the year was pretty low key. We had five persons attending with three projects.  As luck would have it, the weather would be clear but unbelieveablly hot.

Chris: Z32 front bumper, Glen: G35 F&R struts and springs and Ivan: Z33 Test Pipes

We didn’t get to Glen’s suspension due to lack of time. We owe you one Glen. (Sorry about that.) We grilled burgers & hot dogs and Ivan made a couple pizzas from his store in Romulus. (Awesome!) We had plenty of beer and water to help keep us cool. If the sun was not so intense, we would have had a few things going on at the same time.  Looking forward to the next one already!

Thanks to everybody that came out to the monthly meeting last week. We had a great turnout and some visitors even came all the way from Grand Rapids!

For our April meet, we will be combining it with our Spring BBQ on April 30th at Kensington Park

When: Saturday, April 30th start at 11:00am

Where: Kensington Park, Novi (exact lot will be posted the week of the BBQ). The park is one of the nicest metro parks I’ve been to, with a big lake in the center, you can rent canoes, ride bikes etc. We’ll have a football, frisbee and anything other activity (maybe cornhole for you midwesterners).

Who: Pretty much anybody with a Z/G/240 or Nissan/Infiniti is invited as long as you are mature, responsible, and cool to hangout with. We will not tolerate burnouts, revving, etc. You do not have to be a member to come, so feel free to come, bring the family, and meet the group to see what we’re all about.

How: The picnic will be potluck style. Attendees can either bring a food/drink/utensil or chip in a couple bucks (maybe $5? depending on how much you eat lol). I will update this post with a list of who’s bringing what so we don’t have a 20 bottles of soda or something.

We may even see a few Z’s coming out of hibernation! We all saw Brian’s Z at last week’s staff meeting

WARNING: Do not take the the first entrance into the shopping square after you get off I-96 ( I think it’s called Crescent street, it’s the entrance with the street light) as there are TONS of pot holes. I’d recommend taking the 2nd entrance (Crowe Dr).

But still, when driving around right after winter, everyone should all be careful and look out for all the potholes.

Due to the large amount of snow received last night and the likelihood of more tonight the February meeting at Kart2Kart has been postponed until next monday February 28th.

Hope everybody’s enjoying the warmer weather we’re getting this week, and you know that only means one thing right? Spring is coming!!

To temporarily satisfy the driving bug, we’ve decided to have our monthly meeting this month at Kart 2 Kart!

When: Monday, February 21st (Arrive at 7pm)

Plan to arrive at 7pm, and we will try to have the first race at 7;30pm sharp. Afterwards we will hold our meeting in the front lobby, then go out for more races again!

I know for some this may be a long haul, but let me tell you, it’s completely worth it!

The price will be $12 per 8 min race.
